Is it that you need calculator for simple calculation? Why to look for any external calculator when it is there in your brain only? Whether we like it or not, Mathematics is embedded in our lives. Even on daily basis, there are several situation when we need the ability to calculate the different operations of numbers. Vedic Maths is nothing but getting the same result by following alternate methods. The advantage is that the calculation becomes easy and less time consuming. The first attempt to popularize Vedic Mathematics was made by a saint called Bharati Krishna Tirathji. He wrote a book by the name Vedic Mathematics. The book was published in 1965 and became popular in India and abroad. As people understood the usefulness of this techniques, it became popular and now there are coaching classes that teach this method to the students. These techniques are very handy for the students applying for competitions having quantitative aptitude as one of the requirement.
Lets see some of the method of this branch of Mathematics
We have to find the square of the number 25 which is
The last number of 25 is 5 so if we square 5 we will get 25
Now the first number of 25 is 2 and the next consecutive number is 3 .
Now multiply 2 and 3
2×3=6 ,Now you combine the numbers 6 and 25 and we get 625
Therefore square of 25=625
Similarly, for any number ending in 5, we can find the square without actually multiplying.
Lets find the square a number ending in 1
square of 21=?
Now the square of the second number of 1 is 1 .the first number is 2.So square is
Square of 1=1 and square of second number 2 is=4
Now you do the multiplication of the number 2 and the square number which is 2
And we will get 2×2=4 Now after arranging we get 441
Therefore we get square of 21=441
It is very interesting to play with numbers using Vedic mathematics if little bit interest is taken.
