Present participle is the word which is derived from the verb but it does the work of an adjective. So we can call it partly verb and partly adjective. Let’s take an example.

I saw a boy standing near the gate. (मैनें एक लड़के को द्वार के निकट ख़़ड़ा देखा)

In the above sentence, the wording ‘standing’ is talking about the boy. Therefore it is acting like an adjective. But the word is derived from the verb ‘stand’ by adding ‘ing’.’ Ing’ represents that the action is in progress. So, it is different from the normal adjectives. Some more examples are

He left the room shouting at everyone. (वह सब पर चिल्लाते हुए कमरे से बाहर चला गया)
The word ‘shouting’ is the present participle.
‘Thanking’ everyone, he accepted the honour. (Thanking is the Present Participle)
He went to the doctor ‘complaining’ about headache. (Complaining is the present participle)
People ‘carrying’ banners protested against the recent price-hike. (Carrying is the present participle)
