I agree to the above statement only to some extent. Agreed, that the mobile phone has certain credible advantages like connectivity with the family members, especially in the emergency kind of situation. There is a possibility of using the mobile for constructive purposes like searching for the information on the internet etc. However, before handing over this gadget to the young ones require a careful analysis. It must be ascertained whether the child has the maturity and prudence to use this gadget properly or not. A mobile set is like a gun which can protect as well as destroy. So the holder of mobile must know when to use it and how to use it for their benefits.
Before making a child the owner of the mobile, it is imperative to know the child’s nature. If nature is restless and the child has inborn desire to try something new, then one should think several times before taking this decision. In this situation, it is advisable to first groom the child to know the usefulness of this device. Only when the child has modified his behaviour, he should be given access to mobile. Even when the mobile is provided, there is a need to constantly watch how the same is being used. If there is any suspicious thing noticed, it makes sense to let them manage their affairs without the mobile set.
Mobile is perhaps one of the best inventions of the last century. It has transformed the lives of people immensely. Today, we can’t imagine our life with this gadget. But, when it comes to transferring the ownership to a child, a cautious approach is the best option.
