The difference between ‘Little’, ‘A little’ and ‘The Little’

The literary meaning of the word little is ‘less’(थोड़ा)
But the meaning of the same word differs when used with A and The. Let’s try to understand the difference.
Little- This word has a negative meaning. It means hardly any(थोड़ा सा भी नहीं)
He showed little interest in studies. (उसने पढ़ाई में थोड़ीसी भी दिलचस्पी नहीं दिखाई)

A Little- This means some but not much. (थोड़ा बहुत)
